To date, mandatory diagnostic procedures for suspected thyroid cancer are an ultrasound examination of the thyroid gland and a fine-needle aspiration biopsy of the tumor, if necessary performed under ultrasound control (TAB6UZI). The diagnosis is established on the basis of the clinical picture, ultrasonographic symptoms and cytological examination data.
